Object Name Postcard
Description 1944 postcard from a prisoner in the Theresienstadt concentration camp that acknowledges the receipt of a package. Front of postcard has printed text with blank spaces for prisoners to fill in their personal information as well as information about what they received. This information includes what was received, its value, its weight, and who sent and received the package. The front also includes a note about the return of packages received. The back of the postcard also has printed text where the prisoner can fill in the address of the postcard recipient.

This postcard was sent by Fritzi (Friederike?) Mayer who acknowledged the receipt of one letter on April 8,1944. It was sent to Nelly (Cornelia) "Sara" Weiss in Wien, Austria.

Provenance During the Holocaust, Johanna and Cornelia (Nelly) Weiss sent packages to prisoners at Theresienstadt. Recipients of these packages were required to send back a notice that they had received what was sent. These package receipts were saved, and donated to the Museum by the son/brother of the women who orginally sent the packages.
