Szymon Orlowski was born in Czestochowa, Poland on February 23, 1914 to Gerszon and Estera Frajermauer nee Kozusznik. According to USHMM records, his father, Gerszon, was initially sent to Radom Ghetto and eventually deported to Auschwitz in the spring of 1942 where he was murdered. Several of his brothers and sisters perished in Treblinka Concentration Camp, including his brother Rubin Fajermauer and wife, Bronia, and his sisters, Nataliya Spenadel and Helena Rozenberg. Szymon remained in hiding until the end of the Holocaust. |

The Frajermauer Family Papers focus primarily on the fates of the extended family during the Holocaust in Poland. These papers include photographs. Folder 1 contains biographical information on the family, including contact information for Szymon and information on the various fates of his family members. Folder 2 contains copies of photographs of the family prior to the Holocaust. |
