Arthur Brandeis and his wife were able to immigrate to Richmond in late 1939 due to the help of the Thalhimer family. His parents, Naftali and Rosalie Brandeis, were deported from their home in Vienna, Austria to Theresienstadt in July 1942 and records indicate they were murdered at Treblinka. |

The Brandeis Family Papers focus primarily on Naftali and Rosalie Brandeis and their children. These papers include photos and newspaper clippings. Folder 1 contains a copy of a photograph of Naftali and Rosalie. Folder 2 has a newspaper clipping of Bertha Brandeis Newman and Arthur Brandeis at work at the New York Deli. |
