Description |
Propaganda poster printed vertically on tan paper in a Gothic font with black ink. Poster was created and distributed by the Central press of the NSDAP. Poster begins with a title in the top center, a drawing centrally located and directly below the title, and one sentence below the drawing, also centrally located. The drawing is a depiction of a soldier in his uniform, wearing large boots and a helmet. He is standing presumably on a battle field with mountains behind him, and a dead body beside him. The soldier is looking forward and appears to be walking away from the body with a stoic facial expression. The drawing is drawn with flowing sketch lines that extend horizontally across. The poster reads, heldengenftag 1939. Uber Graber vombarts!" Or, "Memorial Day 1939. Over the graves forward." |
