Description |
Book printed on tan cardboard that has since discolored. The text on the front cover and spine is in black ink. Front cover begins with text, a horizontal line below this, the title, the author, three more lines of text, a drawing of a lion (presumably the printer's stamp), and more names as well as the cities, Munich and Berlin. The spine begins with the author's name, a horizontal line below, and the title of the book; at the bottom of the spine is more text. The 544 page book has lots of text, as well as diagrams and drawings of body functions, muscles, bones, etc., all in black ink. The front cover text reads, "Lehmanns medizinisxhe Lehrbucher / Band XVII / Lehrbuch der Anatomie des Menchen / von Alfred Benninghoff / Erster Band / Allgemeine Anatomie und Bewegungsapparat / Zweite Auflage / J.F. Lehmanns Verlag, Munchen/ Berlin." Or, "Lehmann's Medical textbook / Volume XVII / Textbook of the Anatomy of Man / by Alfred Benninghoff / First Volume / General Anatomy and Movement / Second Edition / J.F. Lehmann's publishing house, Munich/Berlin." Copyright date says 1939, but on page VI of the second page of the in the preface, there is a quote by Alfred Benninghoff from March 1942. |
