Description |
Blue, rectangular suitcase with brown edging, and metal hardware. Suitcase has two brown, leather handles, one on top and one on the left side (facing front). There are seven total metal clasps around the edges of the suitcase, two on top, two on bottom, and three on the right (facing front). "K. Schwarz, Richmond Vi, U.S.A." is painted on the front in white. Suitcase opens at the left side. Interior is lined with yellow cloth, and has several straps and clasps attached to interior edges. The portion of the suitcase that opens up vertically has a metal bar with wooden hangers. |

This suitcase was owned and used by Simone Schwarz when she immigrated from Europe to Richmond, Virginia. The suitcase remained in her attic in the States before being donated to the Museum by her son. |
