Description |
Propaganda poster printed vertically on tan paper in a Gothic font and in red and black ink. Poster was created and distributed by the Central press of the NSDAP and depicts a quotation by Adolf Hitler. The first two words of the quotation are in a separate font. The first letter of the first word, 'D,' has a drawing of wheat inside; the first letter of the second word, 'A,' has a drawing of leaves extending off of it; and the last letter of the second word, 'e,' also has a drawing of leaves and acorns extending off of it. The first two words, "Dire Arbeit" and a drawing of a scroll on the bottom center of the page depicting Adolf Hitler's name, are in red ink. The remainder of the quote and the appropriate days of poster viewing are in black ink. The poster reads, "Dir arbeit ehrt die Frau wie den Mann. Das kind aber adelt die Mutter." Or, 'Work honors the woman as the man. The child however ennobles the mother." |
