Description |
Propaganda poster printed vertically on tan paper in a bold linear font and in gray and red ink. Poster was created and distributed by the Central press of the NSDAP and depicts a quotation by Adolf Hitler. The top 1/3 of the page is a gray wreath encircling a red 'todesrune' or 'death rune' that the Nazi's appropriated from Norse mythology. Below the drawing is the quotation that begins with an enlarged 'I' that has a gray pattern printed within the red letter. The remainder of the quote is in red ink, while Hitler's name and the appropriate dates of poster viewing are in gray ink. The poster reads, "In der hingabe des eigenen lebens fur die gemeinschaft leigt die kronung allen opfersinns." Or, "The dedication of one's own life for the community is the coronation of every spirit of sacrifice." |
