Description |
Propaganda poster printed vertically on tan paper in a Gothic font and in deep red and grey ink. Poster was created and distributed by the Central press of the NSDAP and depicts a quotation by Adolf Hitler, spoken on September 16, 1936. The quote is printed in red ink; the remainder of the print including: a leaf, its shadow, and an acorn drawing found in the space of the first letter 'D', the speaker's name, the date of the quote, and the appropriate dates of poster viewing, are printed in grey ink. The first letter of the word "feigen" found in the third line, has an extended 'F' that trails down the page. The quote says, "Die freiheit bewahren keine feigen" Or, "Freedom is not preserved by cowards." |
