Propaganda poster printed vertically on beige paper in a Gothic font and in red and black ink. Poster was created and distributed by the Central press of the NSDAP and depicts a quotation by Adolf Hitler spoken on February 2, 1934.The first letter of the quote 'E',' the sixth line with the word 'sein,' the eighth line with the word 'nichtsein,' and Hitler's name are all in red ink. The remainders of the quote as well as the appropriate dates of poster viewing are in black ink. The words 'sein,' 'nichtsein,' as well as Hitler's name, are not in a Gothic font. The poster reads, "Es gibt im Volkerleben jahre, in denen die enticheidung uber sein ader nichtsein fur kommende jahrhunderte faut." Or, "In [the] life of a nation, there are years in which the question over, to be or not to be, comes to a decision for the following centuries." |
