A propaganda poster printed vertically on tan paper in Gothic script. The upper 1/3 of the poster is a drawing of family. The family depicts a mother, father, and three children; the family shown is well fed, clean, and has enough money for books and toys. In red ink is the first letter of the paragraph, the small name of the illustrator: Willi Klein, the last three words of the paragraph, and the appropriate days to view the poster. In black ink is the drawing and the rest of the paragraph's text. The poster reads, "Die drei Grundbebingungen fur die existenz wines bolfs sind: Lebenskraft, Lebensrecht unt Lebensfreunde." This was a quotation by Gauleiter Burkchel on March 7, 1938. In English it says, "The three basic conditions for the existence of a nation are: Vigor, a right to exist and vitality." It was printed by the Gau Saarpfalz. |
