Description |
Propaganda poster vertically printed on tan paper. Poster is printed in red and black ink in a gothic font. Paragraph one begins with a large red W, followed by black text for the remainder of the paragraph. The appropriate days of viewing as well as the name of the quotation's speaker: Wilhelm Raabe, located on the bottom of the page, are in red ink. Poster was set to be distributed by the Gau-propaganda office from October 3-9, 1938. It reads: "Wermit Dem Teufel glucf lich fampfen will, Der ftellt fich beffer feft auf feine Fuke und beikt Die Zahne zufam-men, als Daker fich un-ter Fen Rocf Desheiliglten Engels derfriecht." Its translation is: "Anyone who wants to fight favorably with the devil should better be standing strongly on his feet and gritting his teeth, instead of crawling away into the holiest angel's skirt." |
